That’s why we’re extending a 10% off offer to all of those staying with us on Sunday and Monday nights throughout the month of August to set you right at the heart of things for a summer of Scottish fun. Just use the code AUGUST 10 when you book and remember to do so directly through our website for the best rates and most up to date availability!

Our hotel sits on the edge of Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens, giving you a tranquil outlook to enjoy as you start the day with a full, cooked breakfast. From there, the possibilities are endless. Scotland’s biggest city and beyond come alive in the warmer months and there’s something for everyone. If you like the sound of panoramic views and fresh water gently lapping at your feet, then head out to Loch Lomond Shores and enjoy their Summer Fun program with little ones in tow. It’s just a 30-minute drive from our hotel, taking in beautiful countryside and wooded glens along the way.

If you’re on an adults-only, grownups trip then you might want something a little faster-paced. Glasgow’s West End, where our residence is situated, is full of bustling bars and cultural events. Try a comedy night at The Stand – available seven nights a week – or take a Whisky Tasting Tour at the much-loved Pot Still Whisky Bar. Try an underground gig on for size at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut and end the weekend with a relaxing spa day at the sumptuous Blythswood Hotel.

Take a train ride east and you’ll find yourself in the country’s capital, Edinburgh. August is the month of madness as the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe take over the city with an estimated 1 million tourists descending on its streets over the 3-week period! There’s plenty to see and do starting with the Edinburgh International Book Festival running talks and Q and A’s with big-named authors (literally, hundreds!) to book-based theatre shows for kids. At the International Festival, you’ll find cutting-edge work in the program this year, from a reimagining of Don Giovanni to a curated collection of artist-made work on the plight of Syria. If you’re there for laughs then check out the Fringe, the world’s largest arts and theatre festival. Up and coming comedians and theatre-makers will all be battling for your custom as you “run the gauntlet” up Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, with a bucket-load of flyers pressed into your hands. Everything from free shows in the back-rooms of pubs to stars of stage and screen will be making an appearance so choose wisely to make the most of your day – or play Fringe Roulette if you’re feeling up for a gamble and see the first thing you come across!

However you choose to spend your weekend with us at the Ambassador, you can be sure we’ll be on hand with recommendations aplenty and, once you’ve exhausted yourself with exploration, you can retreat to our peaceful spot on the banks of the River Kelvin – bliss.
