Glasgow Summer Sessions!

Like we don’t already have enough to be getting on with; TRNSMT Festival, Summer Nights at the Kelvingrove Bandstand, Glasgow Jazz Festival… it’s as if the powers that be just want us to get down and boogie every single night of the summer. Well, we’re not complaining!

Kicking things off way back in 2013, Glasgow Summer Sessions is back with a cracking lineup this year. Taking over Bellahouston park for three nights only – 22nd, 25th and 29th August – international music giants Kings of Leon, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Kendrick Lamar will each be taking a headline slot. Supporting acts come in the form of The Wombats, Twin Atlantic and, warming up for hip-hop star Kendrick Lamar are the world-famous, N.E.R.D. All shows are set to be real crowd-pleasers and we know the atmosphere will be electric – Glasgow knows how to party!

You’ll need a place to rest those weary feet post-party and we’re open 365 days a year for Glasgow visitors. Plus, we’re running an exclusive discount for guests staying between 22nd and 29th August, giving you 10% off when you book direct through the Ambassador Hotel website. It’s the place for the best deals, guaranteed lowest rates and most accurate availability, so is well-worth saving in your favourites.

While our residence is in the West End of the city, it’s just a half hour commute by public transport (even quicker by taxi) to Bellahouston Park, this year’s site for the summer sessions. While you’re on the Southside, why not check out some of Glasgow’s lesser known sites? Queens Park covers 150 acres of the area and is home to tennis courts, a woodland walk and plenty of green spaces to enjoy a frappe in the sun before the festival. If you’re feeling competitive, try a game a lawn bowls with friends – totally free, walk-in bookings are available and no special equipment needed! Take a walk towards Pollockshields and grab lunch at The Bungo Bar and Kitchen. This laid-back joint serves up fresh culinary delights all day, including bar favourites like hearty steaks and burgers. Get your fill then head towards the park early as the best spots (at the front, of course) are bound to be popular.

Post-show, head to the Glad Café to continue the Indie/Alt vibe and treat yourself to a pint of craft beer or ale. Alternatively, if you fancy keeping your dancing feet well and truly switched to on, try Rum Shack for, well, rum! They have reggae music 7-nights a week too, as well as guest DJs to keep you entertained.

Once the fatigue sets in, grab a cab back to our place and rest your head in one of our super-comfy, home-from-home rooms in our three-star, boutique residence. Sounds good, eh? See you soon!
