ExcellentBased on 903 reviewsVerifiedMargaret B2024-08-26Great location Great location in a nice area. Warm welcome and suitcase carrying from Neil. Warm rooms. Comfy beds. Short walk to Hillhead station. Close to Botanic Gardens. Lots of bars and a wide range of restaurants to choose from down and around Byres Road. The Sparkle Horse or drinks and Number Sixteen restaurant were our favourites.VerifiedT bar2024-08-21Ticked all the boxes A wonderfully presented hotel in a convenient location just across the river from a beautiful botanic gardens. The entire Staff were attentive and courteous. Comfortable night’s sleep. The variety at breakfast was excellent as was the quality. Will stay there again and would highly recommend.VerifiedBraidman132024-08-19Perfect for a short trip to Glasgow Great wee hotel situated in the peaceful surroundings off Queen Margaret Drive beside Botanic Gardens. Clean and comfortable room. Perfect to get your head down on a quick trip to Glasgow. Short walk from the subway and the bustle of the West End. Would definitely stay again!Verifiedsheelaghclare2024-08-15Would definitely stay again Ideal place to stay when visiting Glasgow. Very comfortable hotel on quiet road by Botanical Gardens. There are good links to Glasgow attractions and it's only a short walk to the restaurants and trendy shops of Byers Rd area. Single room was compact with a nice view over the trees above the River Kelvin. Bed was very comfy. Couple of points - tv screen rather small and high up on wall and would have welcomed a shelf in the shower room for toiletries.Verifiedkmc2024-08-05Lovely hotel, great location. Had a lovely stay at the Ambassador. Receptionist was a delight, so welcoming. The parking at the back does test your reversing skills, but we go there in the end. It was a birthday treat so the hotel kindly upgraded us to an apartment. Lots of space, with kitchen facilities, a settee and a huge bed. Breakfast was great, all the standards. Just five minutes walk to Great Western Road and Byres Road, the location is terrific. Would definitely recommend.VerifiedMalcolm C2024-08-02Very good location The room was a bit small though clean and comfortable. However it was all that I needed for an overnight stay. It was in a quiet area next door to the Botanic Gardens. Also the Hunterian Museum, Art Gallery and Mackintosh House at the University were handy, a little further away but within approx half a mile walking distance.VerifiedO9013UXmichellec2024-07-05Great location and spacious room. The room was spacious and clean. Bathroom facilities were very good. Bed was firm but comfortable. Heating in room was very effective. Location great to walk to major city attractions, directly across from Botanical Gardens. Breakfast was adequate. No fridge in room.VerifiedMaría B2024-07-04Good experience, great staff. The room was very spacious and The bed was big. There was not many people working but they all worked very hard and they helped us with everything we needed. Special mention Liz, she was very kind and polite, and she worked very hard and solved our problems with kindness and proffessionality. The breakfast was very complete and delicious. Good experience overall.VerifiedTrek5958052024-06-30Great Location, Friendly Staff Very nice hotel and excellent location. Vross the street and you're in the Botanic Gardens. Byers Road is maximim five minute walk. Single room is small but has what you need. Comfy bed. The tv is on the wall and is really too small to watch comfortably as you can only sit on the bed or at the desk, quite far from the tv. Off-street parking is limited, and getting to it, and back out, is not for the faint of heart. You drive along a NARROW alley, barely wide enough for one car, and turning to exit again can be challenging. There is street parking. Buy a voucher from the hotel. Nice breakfast available for a fee. All the staff with whim I interacted were very friendly and welcoming, particularly Neil and Liz.
GoodBased on 530 reviewsEll2024-08-25Friendly service and nice location. The building is very old so there are some plumbing issues. Breakfast was okay. Overall a nice stay.Colin Matthew2024-08-22Easy booking. Excellent service in hotel. Rooms absolutely spotless. Great info re location, subway, taxis etc. highly recommendedAdrian Brown2024-08-19Quiet friendly hotel at a reasonable price in a great central location.Bench Day2024-08-15Really bad. Got a sore back of the matress, you can heary anybody moving anytime in the whole building. No easy parking, no lift, bad breakfast. 125£ per night. Your choice.marcin trojanowski2024-08-09The location of this hotel is great and the workers here are lovely but for a single business room I wouldn't recommend it. In my room, the carpets on the floor are mouldy with a red stain on the ground, and every now and then, you can smell the mould which isnt really apeasing. They definitely wouldn't walk barefoot at all. The room itself is alright for 1 night i can handle it. The bathroom is nice and clean, so I'm not going to say bad to that. The room is a little bit covered with layers of dust. It's a nice cosy room in general with some tweets, and it would have been great.Stefanie Keldsen2024-08-08We stayed here recently during our trip around Scotland. The Ambassador Hotel was our favorite accommodations by far. Our rooms were spacious, beautiful and very clean. From booking to departure we received exceptional service from Neil. The location was perfect. Easy access to Byres Road, the University, Kelvin walk, and the Botanical Gardens. On our next visit to Glasgow we will be staying here.Richard Trewby2024-07-27The rooms were clean and well maintained. There was plenty of hot water and the beds were comfortable.
