Summer Festival in Glasgow

Summer in Glasgow has officially started! Outdoor events and festivals are back as communities gather to produce an amazing array of evens for locals and visitors to enjoy in our city for the next number of weeks.

What makes THIS festival different from many others lies in its foundations, which stems from community. Here is where you’ll witness the very best of the Glaswegian spirit. Locals and communities who have weathered the storms of the last few years and want to smile, laugh, and enjoy life as we all should do.

First up to get us all fired up is Summer in the West End. With the welcome support of Glasgow city council, Halo Arts Present this longed for festival that kicks off with ‘Vinicombe Street Gala’ on Saturday, June 5th from 12-5pm. The day is going to be fun filled with the arrival of street performers, lots of activities for all the family, live music, and a silent disco! As you approach the area you are sure to hear the Samba bands in the distance, that will leave you in no doubt the festival season has started.

Other highlights of the event include:

Mansfield Park Street Festival – 11th June,
Starting at 12pm this event will include access to farmers markets, live music, circus performers and more.

Kelvingrove Outdoor Ceilidh – 18th June.
In true Scottish tradition the Ceilidh is designed to get everyone up and dancing to the foot tapping sounds of the Glasgow Folk Music Workshop.

Back and ready to entertain the masses, the Queen Mary Drive community have devised several activities from 12 – 5pm including live music, street play and street stalls.

We can’t emphasise enough how busy the summer months are going to be in Glasgow. If you want to be part of the magic, come, and stay with us at the Ambassador Hotel.
